Adventure: Hiking up the World's Famous Dunn's River Falls

4:47 PM

Let me tell you something about Jamaica....GO!

It's easily the coolest place I've been too and really turned me on to the whole island life vibe, ya mon!

When we had the opportunity to on an excursion of our choice fo' free!, Alexis, my friend Jessica and I decided we wanted to do "world famous" stuff and so we decided to climb Dunn's River Falls, which was an awesome idea.

The waterfall is located near Ocho Rios, and cascades into this beautiful white sand beach -- which also serves as the starting point of this relatively affordable excursion. The waterfall itself is about 180 ft and the climb is made in a group, holding hands, and being guided by tour guides for safety, all of whom know how to keep the experience rowdy and fun.

Though the hike seems a bit like forever, the unexpected dips and natural water slides  into the freezing spring water make for some of our best memories and tons of laughter.

If You Go:
  1. You'll need water shoes
  2. Leave all your belongings on the cruise or in your hotel room, there are no lockers to lock anything away
  3. Be prepared for the hustling that comes later as you walk through the street shops
