When a friend of ours found out we were going to Washington D.C., she didn’t hesitate to send us a list of restaurants we just had to try -- Founding Farmers being at the top of that list.
Alexis and I are huge foodies, so it doesn’t take much convincing to get us to try a new restaurant, but this one in particular stood out to us because of the RED. VELVET. PANCAKES. everyone Yelped about.
Every bite we took of these scrumptiously fluffy, lightly sugared delicacies stood alone as an experience.
And just when we thought that was amazing, we scoured their Texas BBQ bacon, chicken and waffles and scrambled eggs. (Seriously, what do you guys put in those eggs?)
Oh! The mimosas! How could I forget about the mimosas?! Let me tell you something about freshly squeezed oranges and champagne…it’s Frickin’ DELICIOUS and unlike any other mimosa you’ve ever tried.
Not only is the food amazing, the atmosphere is really swanky and holds a very cool history. The shabby chic décor is incredibly inviting, and makes for an adorable brunch spot, and the origins behind the restaurant really make it worth a visit.
According to their site, “The Founding Farmers name represents a combination of ideas: it is a celebration of the land and the American family farmer; it is a nod to the founding fathers of our country, many of whom owned and farmed land that surrounds Washington, D.C.; and it is a place where true, sustainably farmed, grown and harvested American foods are brought to our guests. “
Founding Farmers prides itself on producing and servicing the highest quality to it’s customers, believing everyone deserves a delicious “meal away from home.”
